Practices will be held at the Linton Hall School in Gainesville.
Team Structure
- Age Group: Typically girls aged 17 & 18. For 2024-25 season, players must be born on or after July 1, 2006
- Skill Level: Players usually have several years of volleyball experience, with a solid foundation in the game's fundamentals and advanced skills.
- Coaching Staff: Experienced coaches with a strong background in volleyball, with playing and coaching experience at high levels.
Training and Practice:
- Practice Frequency: Regular practices, typically 2 hours sessions, 2 times a week, focusing on skill development, team strategies, and conditioning. Additional 2 hour position practices on Saturdays during the beginning of the season.
- Training Focus: Emphasis on advanced techniques, positional play, team dynamics, and mental toughness.
- Conditioning: Physical conditioning is a key component, with workouts designed to enhance strength, agility, and endurance.
Competitions:
- Tournaments: Participation in local, regional, and sometimes national tournaments. See complete list of planned tournaments for the 2024-25 season above.
- Scrimmages: Engagement in scrimmages against other local teams.
- Goals: Aiming to perform well in competitions, qualify for higher-level tournaments, and gain exposure to college recruiters.
Team Dynamics:
- Teamwork: Strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and mutual support among players.
- Roles: Clear definition of player roles and positions, with specialized training for setters, hitters, liberos, etc. All players are expected to have a willingness to train in positions outside their comfort zone to enhance team versatility and adaptability, ensuring better overall performance and resilience in various game scenarios.
Off-Court Activities:
- Volunteering: All team members are encouraged to participate in group volunteer activities that will be scheduled by the Club, both in our community and in the communities that we visit for tournaments. At Eclipse, we believe that working together to help others fosters stronger communities, builds meaningful relationships, and enhances personal growth and fulfillment.
Goals and Aspirations:
- Development: Focus on individual and team improvement, preparing players for potential collegiate-level play.
- Achievement: Striving for success in tournaments and leagues, with an eye on championships and bid opportunities.
- Exposure: Providing players with opportunities to be seen by college scouts and recruiters, enhancing their chances of playing at the next level.
